About us

Together, we can drive meaningful change.

The Cooperative drives global health improvement and strengthens the well-being of partner communities through a holistic, action-oriented approach. As a network of international health specialists, it applies the «One Health» multidisciplinary framework to deliver practical, impactful solutions. Members bring diverse and extensive expertise in humanitarian relief, development, and collaborations with Ministries of Health, United Nations agencies, international organisations, and academic institutions. Committed to fostering partnerships, the Cooperative works closely with communities and civil society to tackle pressing health challenges and achieve shared sustainable goals.

Operating Model

The Geneva Global Health Cooperative was established in July 2024 by ten founding members. Our operational model is rooted in an ethical code and an eco-responsible approach. As part of Geneva’s global health, social, and solidarity network,   our Cooperative operates with a flat organisational structure where all members share equal authority. We actively seek partnerships with local and regional professionals in all our projects. These collaborations are vital, as they enable the sharing of expertise and ensure adaptability to the local context. Moreover, local involvement is crucial in fostering community acceptance of health interventions.

Code of Ethics

The Geneva Global Health Cooperative Code of Ethics outlines the principles and standards that guide the conduct of individuals and organizations involved in global health initiatives

Eco-Responsible Approach

The Cooperative   is committed to complying with the 2015 Paris Agreement  and developing a low-emission structure and actions.  All members are contributing to this approach to combat global warming and respect our planet while improving the quality of our activities without hindering them

Governance

A general assembly manages the cooperative, and a bureau comprises four elected representatives: a president, a vice president, a secretary and a treasurer. Decisions are taken through discussions in which each member expresses their opinions

Our values

The Cooperative’s values are built around four fundamental principles

Respect: Engage in exchanges without judgment, make decisions with confidence, and foster solidarity among members and with our partners.
Transparency: Publicly share the results of the work conducted, highlighting the involvement of members and providing detailed technical and financial annual reports.
Ethical and Responsible Behavior: Act responsively and efficiently, upholding our core values while maintaining an eco-responsible approach.
Inclusion and Equity: Develop partnerships celebrating the richness of diverse expertise, cultures, and origins.

Services

The Geneva Global Health Cooperative combines deep technical expertise with a solid commitment to ethical and sustainable development practices. At the Cooperative, we take a unique approach to our comprehensive services, covering various health-related challenges, including emergency preparedness and humanitarian response, capacity building of health partners and public health training, and support to operational research. Whether in emergency settings or long-term health programs, our team works collaboratively to improve health outcomes, reduce inequalities, and promote a more sustainable and resilient future for all.

One Health

Our experts design integrated health solutions that consider the complex interactions between human, animal, and environmental health, addressing zoonotic diseases, ecosystem services, and sustainable agriculture. We offer expertise in addressing environmental determinants of health, including water, sanitation, air quality, and the impacts of climate change on public health.

Crisis and Epidemic Management

Disaster relief and recovery: our team provides expert coordination for disaster response, ensuring that health services are quickly restored in the aftermath of natural and artificial disasters.

Epidemic preparedness and response: we specialise in responding to disease outbreaks, particularly cholera and other infectious diseases. This includes rapid assessment, coordination, and implementation of emergency health measures.

Capacity Building, Health System Strengthening, and Policy Support

Our goal is to support existing structures and strengthen the technical capacities of stakeholders. Our team provides technical support for improving health systems, including capacity building for local stakeholders and reinforcing governance and management structures. We engage in policy dialogue and advocacy, working with governments, international organisations, and civil society to influence health policies that are inclusive, equitable, and sustainable.

Evaluation

Health needs assessment: We conduct qualitative and quantitative health and humanitarian needs evaluations, particularly in emergencies, to guide effective intervention strategies.
Epidemiological Studies: We offer in-depth analyses of health patterns, disease transmission, and public health risks in both acute crises and long-term development settings.
Monitoring and Evaluation: We implement robust monitoring and evaluation systems using qualitative and quantitative methods to assess the impact and effectiveness of health interventions.

Research and Innovation

We design, conduct and promote research on nutrition and infectious and non-communicable diseases. Our work emphasises innovative health solutions, including new technologies and approaches in healthcare, particularly tailored for low-resource settings. These efforts are grounded in a cross-disciplinary perspective integrating anthropology, cost-effectiveness analysis, and epidemiology.

Training

The support includes the development of curricula and training material, the organisation of the training sessions, and their evaluation. We offer training programs for health professionals, NGOs, and local partners in disease surveillance, epidemic response, data management and analysis, project management, monitoring and evaluation, and One Health. We also provide educational support to local communities, empowering them with the knowledge to take charge of their health and improve resilience in the face of health challenges.
